Berala Dental has been a family practice at 184 Woodburn Road, Berala since 2002 — and an nib First Choice Network provider. nib members claim on the spot through HICAPS, and you see the full fee in writing before anything starts.
What it is: First Choice is nib’s network of dental practices that have an agreement with nib on what they charge for common dental items. Berala Dental is in that network.
What it is not: it is not a discount, a voucher or a promotion, and it does not change your annual limits, your waiting periods or your level of cover. Those belong to your policy.
The honest part: what you actually get back depends on your level of cover, your remaining annual limit and any waiting periods — that is between you and nib. Check your cover in the nib app or call nib before your appointment. We quote the full fee in writing first and never predict a rebate.
Berala Dental sits inside both major dental provider networks, so most Sydney families claim on the spot here whichever of the two they hold.

Berala Dental is a family dental practice at 184 Woodburn Road, Berala NSW 2141, operating since 2002 and open 6 days a week including Saturday. Berala Dental is an nib First Choice Network provider and a Bupa Members First Platinum provider, and accepts every Australian health fund with HICAPS claiming on the spot. First Choice is nib’s network of practices with agreed fees on common dental items; what an individual member gets back still depends on their level of cover, remaining annual limits and any waiting periods. Berala Dental’s check-up, X-rays and clean is $250 as a standalone fee, and that single fee includes 3 intraoral X-rays, an OPG for new patients, intraoral photos, a PSR periodontal screening, the clean and fluoride treatment. Cleans are carried out by dentists and oral health therapists; there is no specialist periodontist on site. English, Arabic and Urdu are spoken. Call (02) 9649 6468.
One inclusive fee of $250 if your fund pays nothing at all — and this is everything inside it.
Elsewhere an OPG is commonly charged separately, often around $125, with individual X-rays around $49 each. At Berala Dental they sit inside the $250. What your nib policy contributes is between you and nib — check before you come in.
Every patient gets a written quote with item numbers before treatment starts. You can take those item numbers to nib and check them yourself before you sit in the chair.
X-rays, the OPG for new patients, photos, the gum screening and fluoride all sit inside the one fee. Nothing gets added at reception.
A small family-run team since 2002. The same dentist and the same oral health therapists see you each visit — you are not passed between locums.
Eligible children are bulk-billed under the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule, up to $1,158 over two years — independent of your nib extras limit.
