💳 Fees & payments

Clear quotes. Easy payments.

No prices online — every patient is unique. What we promise instead: a clear written quote at your consultation, all major health funds accepted, and flexible payment options.

Trusted by patients across Berala, Auburn, Lidcombe, Regents Park, Granville, Parramatta and Strathfield since 2002.

📚 Quick answer

Why don't we publish prices online?

Because every patient is unique. The cost of dental treatment depends on what's actually needed — whether X-rays are required, the complexity of the case, the time involved, and your individual circumstances. Quoting a number online before we've examined you would be guesswork.

What we promise instead: a clear written quote at your consultation, before any work begins. No surprise invoices. No fine print. No hidden fees.

Payment options

Pay your way, at your pace.

Most patients pay on the day. For larger treatment, we offer Afterpay, Zip Pay, and in-house split payments for treatments that span multiple visits.

Standard

Cash, card & EFTPOS

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), tap-and-pay (Apple Pay, Google Pay), EFTPOS and cash. No surcharges on card payments.

Buy now, pay later

Afterpay

Split your treatment into 4 instalments over 6 weeks. No traditional finance interest from our end when paid on schedule. Application is instant through Afterpay's app — subject to their approval and terms.

Buy now, pay later

Zip Pay

Flexible repayments with longer terms than Afterpay. No traditional finance interest from our end when paid on schedule. Application is online — subject to Zip's approval and terms.

Multi-visit treatments

In-house split payments

Some treatments span multiple appointments — comprehensive deep cleans, root canals with crowns, or implant procedures. For these we can split the payment across visits, agreed in writing before treatment begins.

Payment is always made on the day of treatment after the work is completed. We don't require pre-payment for appointments.
Health funds accepted

All major Australian health funds.

Berala Dental processes claims on the spot through HICAPS. Your fund's contribution is applied immediately — you only pay the gap (if any) on the day.

⭐ Members choice provider BUPA

Berala Dental is a BUPA members choice provider — BUPA members may receive higher rebates and reduced out-of-pocket costs on eligible treatments.

…and every other major fund

We accept all health funds via HICAPS. If yours isn't shown above, just bring your card — claims are processed on the spot.

📋 Our promise

No surprises, ever.

We give you a clear written quote at your consultation, before any treatment begins. The quote covers everything we propose — itemised by procedure — so you know exactly what you're paying for.

If something unexpected comes up during treatment that changes the cost, we stop and discuss it with you first. You're never surprised by an invoice at the end.

For complex treatments like implants, root canals, or full-mouth work, we agree the total cost and payment schedule in writing before we begin.

Sometimes, sometimes not — depends what's being compared. If it's the same material, same lab, same clinical approach, we can usually get close. If a quote is much cheaper than anyone in the area, it's usually because something's been left out (material quality, follow-up, warranty). Bring the quote in, we'll walk you through it line-by-line — no pressure either way.
Tell us directly. We'll triage: urgent (infection, pain — we'll find a way to do this today), medium-term (decay that's not hurting yet — can we stage it over 6 months?), and optional (cosmetic — fine to defer or decline). No-one should sit in pain because of money.

Money FAQ.

Why do fees vary between dentists?
Fair question. Fees reflect: quality of materials, lab costs, equipment, time spent, and the dentist's experience. Cheap composite fillings often don't last 3 years; ours typically last 7–10+. We aim to be mid-market — not the cheapest in Berala, not close to the most expensive. Fair for good work.
Can you match a quote from another dentist?
Sometimes, sometimes not — depends what's being compared. If it's the same material, same lab, same clinical approach, we can usually get close. If the quote is much cheaper than anyone in the area, it's usually because something's been left out (material quality, follow-up, warranty). Bring the quote in, we'll walk you through it line-by-line honestly — no pressure either way.
What does my private health fund cover?
Depends on your fund, your level of Extras, and how much you've claimed this year. Every fund has different rebate rates and annual limits. Before your visit, send us your fund name and membership number via WhatsApp — we'll run a benefit check and tell you your expected gap before you walk in. No surprises.
Can I pay in instalments for implants / big work?
Yes. Afterpay splits up to $2,000 across 4 fortnightly payments (no interest). Zip Pay handles up to $2,000 over weeks or months. For bigger jobs — like implants, full-mouth rehab, or a run of crowns — we offer interest-free payment plans via SuperCare with terms up to 55 months. Approved at the chair in under 10 minutes.
Do you do payment plans without Afterpay/Zip?
For longstanding patients, often yes — especially for essential treatment (infection, pain). We can stage treatment across 2–3 visits so each visit is affordable, or split a total into fortnightly payments directly with us. Ask. We'd rather work with you than lose you to avoidance.
What if I can't afford treatment you recommend?
Tell us directly. We'll triage: urgent (infection, pain — we'll find a way to do this today), medium-term (decay that's not hurting yet — can we stage it over 6 months?), and optional (cosmetic — absolutely fine to defer or decline). No-one should sit in pain because of money, and we won't lecture you about budget. We've been here 20+ years by not being that kind of practice.
