Looking for an Arabic- or Urdu-speaking dentist in Western Sydney? Berala Dental's Muslim team serves Berala, Auburn and Lidcombe. Book online today.
Explaining a toothache is hard enough. Doing it in a second language, while you are worried about your child or your own treatment, is harder still. If you have ever sat in a waiting room rehearsing the English words for what hurts, you are not alone, and you do not have to do that here. At Berala Dental, you can talk about your teeth in English, Arabic or Urdu with a team that understands both the dentistry and the community it serves.
Berala Dental has cared for families across Western Sydney since 2002. Our Muslim team and Muslim dentists understand the community we work in, because in many ways we are part of it. That means more than language. It means understanding the questions families actually ask, the comfort of being spoken to in your mother tongue, and the small courtesies that make a dental visit feel respectful rather than rushed.
For many patients from the Inner West and Western Sydney, being able to speak with a dentist who shares their cultural background removes a real barrier to getting care. You can ask the questions you genuinely want answered, raise concerns about a treatment plan, and make sure you have understood every step before you agree to anything.
Dentistry involves consent, and consent only works when you truly understand what is being explained. When the conversation happens in a language you are comfortable with, a few things improve:
This is especially important for older family members. Parents and grandparents who feel most at ease in Arabic or Urdu can attend their own appointments, or accompany the grandchildren, knowing the whole conversation is accessible.
We are located at 184 Woodburn Road in Berala, a short trip from Auburn and Lidcombe and easy to reach from across Western Sydney and the Inner West. Patients travel to us from right across the Sydney metro precisely because they want a dental team that speaks their language, literally and figuratively.
Whether you are booking a routine check-up and clean, sorting out a filling, asking about whitening, or dealing with a dental emergency, you can have that whole experience in English, Arabic or Urdu. The care is the same modern, professional dentistry; the difference is that nothing gets lost along the way.
Families are at the heart of what we do, and that includes the youngest patients. If you have children, you may be eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), a government scheme that helps with the cost of basic dental care for eligible kids.
For periods starting in 2026, the CDBS provides up to $1,158 per eligible child over a two-year period, and the cap is indexed every 1 January. To be eligible, a child generally needs to be aged 0 to 17, have a Medicare card, and be in a family that receives an eligible payment (such as Family Tax Benefit Part A) that year. It covers services like exams, X-rays, cleans, fissure sealants, fillings and extractions. It does not cover orthodontics, cosmetic work, or any treatment provided in a hospital or under general anaesthetic.
Eligible visits under the scheme are bulk-billed, meaning no out-of-pocket cost to you, with Medicare paying the clinic directly. You can check whether your child qualifies with our online CDBS eligibility checker, and we are happy to explain how it works in Arabic or Urdu so you understand exactly what your family is entitled to. For anything not covered by CDBS, we will quote you clearly after assessing your needs, and we always recommend confirming any rebate with your private health fund.
Speaking your language goes hand in hand with being straight with you about cost. We believe in quality, transparent dentistry rather than surprises at the desk. For larger treatments such as crowns, root canal therapy or implants, we provide a clear quote after assessing your situation, so you can make an informed decision in a language you are comfortable with.
You should never have to choose between good dental care and being properly understood. At Berala Dental, you get both. Our warm, community-minded Muslim team is ready to welcome you and your family, with English, Arabic and Urdu spoken throughout your visit.
Book online today and talk to a dentist who understands the community, in the language that feels most like home.
